We’ve gotten a number of requests for help with freelancing and looking for work amid the pandemic … and now, we’re excited to let you know what’s been in the works over here! We’re hosting an event on Wednesday, Oct. 14, focusing specifically on the questions we’ve gotten from current students and early career journos, with the questions YOU asked in mind.
Here’s the details:
- What: Freelancing, Pitching, Cover Letters, Oh My! A Zoom Panel for Student Journalists
- When: Oct 14, 6:30-7:30 PM
- What: We’ll give you real talk about how to approach freelancing (especially as a student or recent grad), how to pitch from an editor’s perspective (featuring our brilliant guest Elena Gooray from the Inky), and walk you through the components of a stellar internship application. We’ll finish with a Q&A and the chance to schedule one-on-ones with some of AAJA Philly’s board members!
- Where: Event will be hosted on Zoom (how else?) right here.
To our student journos and recent grads: We designed this with you in mind, we’d love if you could make it!
And to our more seasoned journalists: We’d love to see you there, and we’d love if you’d be willing to share your knowledge and experience with us!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, etc. — we’re excited to see you there!
