WHAT: PULITZER PRIZE WINNERS Barbara Laker and Wendy Ruderman, investigative reporters at the Philadelphia Daily News, share their tips on how to get that hard-to-obtain interview and how to ask questions in an interview to get the details and answers you’re seeking as a reporter.
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 22, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Philadelphia Daily News/Inquirer building, 400 N. Broad St. (at Callowhill Street), first-floor back-hallway conference center.
WHO: Barbara Laker and Wendy Ruderman, winners of a 2010 Pulitzer Prize for their “Tainted Justice” series, which exposed allegations that a rogue narcotics squad fabricated evidence, robbed mom-and-pop stores and, in the case of one officer, sexually assaulted women during drug raids at their homes. They were the first female team to win a Pulitzer in the Investigative Reporting category in prize history.
COST: Free for members of the Asian American Journalists Association; $5 for students who are not AAJA members (show ID); $10 for other attendees (payable at the door)

PARKING: You can park in the Daily News/Inquirer parking garage on Callowhill Street (between 15th and 16th streets). Pick up the black security phone (available on the left-side entrance) and tell the security guard that you are coming for the Asian American Journalists Association event, and you will be let into the garage. When you leave, you will also need to pick up a security phone to be let out.
There is also street parking near the building.
