POSTPONED: Step up your election reporting at this free workshop

NOTE: This event will be postponed to a later date, to be determined, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Stay tuned.

AAJA has partnered with the Google News Initiative to provide free workshops across the country on using a variety of Google tools to cover the election — though these tools can be used for any variety of stories as well. Topics will include using more efficient search tools, verifying the authenticity of images and videos, and analyzing and visualizing data using Google Sheets to create more engaging stories. The workshop will also discuss digital security and how to protect your online data from malicious actors. It’s a great hands-on opportunity to learn or refresh your memory on how to use these free tools to step up your reporting game.

The Philly workshop will be held on Thursday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at The Philadelphia Inquirer, 801 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19107. It will be led by Frank Bi, senior storytelling engineer at Vox Media in New York.

This workshop is FREE — and we will have lunch too! — but you must register online (due to building security rules):

It’s open to all journalists and journalism students, not just AAJA members, so please invite your colleagues and anyone else you think might benefit from this!
